Professional Knowledge

If you want to be powerful, educate yourself.” –Jeremy McGilvrey

The standard of professional knowledge exists to ensure that educators have a strong foundation within their field, as well as knowledge of the best educational practices. Instructors who exhibit professional knowledge will adhere to curriculum standards, be able to connect their content area to past knowledge as well as real-world examples, and will consistently demonstrate a variety of skills from their chosen field.

My unofficial college transcripts show that I have a wide, varied background in not only English but History as well. My liberal arts education taught me how to link different subjects together into a cohesive whole.

My VCLA results as well as my PRAXIS scores show that I demonstrated strong scores within my content knowledge area. I apply this content knowledge to each of my lessons, making sure that students exit every class having taken in another piece of content knowledge.
